The Antonix Have released their Debut Album “Haphazard Rebellion” and are very excited to be playing their last gig of the January album tour with the help of our funky friends “Spaced Invaders".
The Antonix band is a lively Jazz Funk band, who deliver an exciting and infectious experience while on stage, to their audiences. Tonights program will consists of a selection of contrasting covers, as well as originals. Influences include artists such as Swedish trombonist Nils Landgren, Trombone Shorty, the band Snarky Puppy, as well as Roy Hargrove and Fred Wesley from the States. The band comprises of, David Cox - one of Australia’s Leading Saxphonist’s, a freelance Musician, Educator, session musician and a member of the Australian army band, Dylan Reavey on Guitar who recently won the title of Worlds Best Guitarist of 2019 in London, Eden Armstrong - A high profile Brisbane based jazz pianist, educator and composer, Jeremy Ellis a Brisbane based Bass player and radiologist, David Watts a leading Drummer, Freelance Musician and Educator and their band Leader Antony Visser who is a multiinstrumentalist, freelance musician, piano and Brass educator, Composer/arranger. Each of the band members are graduates of the Qld Concervatorium of Music, Griffith University and have all individually been working as professional musicians for a number of years.
Spaced Invaders is a heavy hitting funk group comprised of current and past Queensland Conservatorium students. Drawing inspiration from artists such as; Herbie Hancock, Weather Report and Roy Hargrove, this outfit will deliver a set of music you won’t forget.
